Last month our team paid visit to EuroCucina during Milan Design Week. Created in 1974 EuroCucina takes place bi-annually and showcases all the latest in the realm of high quality kitchens, responding to the escalating demand for functionality from increasingly savvy consumers. This was the fifth show we’ve attended and as always, it was an incredible opportunity to observe the latest trends in materials as well as appliances and to measure those against what we are effectively achieving locally.

Some of the trends we observed include the combination of thick and thin countertops. The use of various thicknesses combined with different textures in the materials adds a lot of interest and character to the kitchen space. The use of very warm and natural tones was a dominant feature at this years show where we noticed a definite move towards warmer environments. The chosen décor revealed that the look now desired is a warm and inviting space while at the same time still sleek and modern.

The use of high gloss lacquer was stronger this year than in previous years as there is a move again to have the high gloss lacquer act as a base material from which very natural textured materials can be used as accents. With this said, matt lacquers are still very popular and there is now a balance forming between the very matt and very gloss materials.

It was an exciting week for us as we considered and viewed how blu_line is on a par with some of the best international brands out there. We look forward to bringing some exciting new features and materials to our product range in the near future.
